Statutory Financial Statement Audit
An independent examination of annual financial statements for companies that need assurance for lenders, shareholders, or regulatory filings in Japan.
From ¥1,850,000
Who this is for
Mid-market Japanese companies, foreign subsidiaries operating in Okayama Prefecture, and closely held groups preparing audited statements for banks or parent companies.
What you receive
A signed auditor’s report on the financial statements, a management letter covering control observations, and a closing meeting that walks directors through adjustments and open items.
Scope
Full-year examination of the balance sheet, income statement, cash flows, and notes under Japanese GAAP or, where agreed, IFRS. Includes substantive testing of revenue, receivables, inventory, fixed assets, and related-party balances.
How the work proceeds
-
Scoping call
We confirm the reporting framework, year-end date, subsidiaries, and bank or parent requirements, then issue an engagement letter and fee quote.
-
Planning & risk assessment
The team reviews prior-year packs, maps key accounts, and sets sampling plans for revenue cut-off, inventory, and significant estimates.
-
Fieldwork
Auditors examine ledgers, vouchers, bank confirmations, and physical inventory counts—usually on site for one to two weeks, with follow-up remotely.
-
Reporting
We clear review notes, present proposed adjustments, issue the opinion, and deliver the management letter within the agreed filing window.
Please prepare trial balances, fixed-asset registers, inventory listings, loan agreements, and board minutes before the planning meeting. Access to the general ledger and warehouse sites must be arranged in advance.
We do not audit public listed issuers under Financial Instruments and Exchange Act engagements. Engagements requiring simultaneous multi-prefecture inventory counts may need additional travel fees.
